Here’s an image of the close encounter between Uranus and the 6th-magnitude star 44 Piscium. The two objects cames within 2′ tonight, September 23 2012, making it easy to spot our solar system’s 7th planet in binoculars and a small telescope. This image was captured with a Mallincam Extreme and VRC-6 Ritchey-Chretien telescope on an HEQ-5 equatorial mount.
